QiyasNetSPEED TEST

How Much Internet Speed Do I Need? Household Calculator

Estimate download and upload bandwidth for simultaneous video streams, calls, games and browsing with a transparent household calculator.

Count activities running at the same time, rather than every device connected to your network. This estimate helps you compare your needs with a measured result.

More bandwidth does not automatically fix weak Wi-Fi or high ping. Game downloads and updates need extra capacity; this estimate covers playing. Live broadcasting and large file uploads require separate planning.

Calculation and limitations

Our planning assumptions per simultaneous activity, in download/upload Mbps, are: browsing 3/1, HD video 5/0.5, 4K video 20/1, calls 5/5, and games 5/2. We add the activities, include 25% headroom and round up. These are QiyasNet planning assumptions, not official application minimums or a recommendation to buy a particular plan.

Example: one 4K stream and one video call give an estimate of 32 Mbps download and 8 Mbps upload, including the 25% headroom.

Compare with your speed test

Test from your normal location and compare both download and upload. If Ethernet works well but a room has weak Wi-Fi, improve coverage before changing your plan.
